Figure drawings, holding a box and object. 3 LESSONS + H/W ·1xA3 MIXED MEDIA MONOCHRAMATIC Drawing · Select any combination of mediums used prior to this task eg. Paint wash and pastel ·Select one colour plus black and white ·You can select one student who can sit or stand whilst holding the box object or stand/sit in front of boxes or they can draw themselves holding their box object etc… ·Students will draw from their view point, take a photo as a record. ·This can be portrait or landscape Instructions for students: Steps 1.Look and observe before making any lines 2.Using your pencil sketch and map out lightly basic shapes and placement of head, neck, shoulders etc… 3.Look at the figure and objects and ask questions…what shape is the head? How wide are the shoulders? Where is the light coming from? Are the eyes too close together? Etc… 4.Once you have the figure and objects lightly mapped out then you can begin to add tone and texture. 5.Select your mediums and begin by working either lightly to dark or dark to light. 6.Remember to evaluate and refine any areas, add highlights (light and dark) |
